25 Years of Welcoming Women through Caring, Sharing and Cultural Exchange

Our Mission

The IWC strives to create a supportive, caring community for women from around the world.

In an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, we offer our members an opportunity to build new friendships while enriching each other with multi-cultural perspectives.

Who We Are

Our members are women who have moved to the Brandywine Valley from another country; women whose work, studies or interests take them abroad, as well as women from the USA who want to enjoy and share in the exchange of multicultural experiences. We are single and married women, with or without children. We are stay–at-home moms, working and retired women who are connected by a curiosity about each other’s cultures, traditions and food.

What We Do

On Wednesdays and Thursday mornings from September through May, the Club assembles at the St. Joseph on the Brandywine Family Center at 10 Old Church Road, Wilmington, De 19807.

In the “main hall” there is always hot coffee, tea and refreshments. Here, members have a chance to sit and chat with other members and new found friends. On special occasions the space is used for Club luncheons, coffees, lectures and cultural events.

On Club days, members have the opportunity to attend a variety of classes that are primarily taught by fellow members who are volunteers. These classes cover a wide range of topics including language courses, art, exercise and dance classes.

What does the IWC mean to me...

I joined the IWC last September, 2013, and it has been such a positive experience, I always come home from any gathering very upbeat and inspired with new ideas. ”This diverse group of women rock”. R. Mohler-Germany

Thank you for transforming my days with your friendship. All of you have been one of my best gifts this year. C. Martinez - Mexico
